Based on the experiences I have had with this film I say a slight overexposure is important. I also use a neutral density filter and then open up from the reading my camera gives. 2/3 to one full stop seems to work well even in the sun. I would caution on underexposure as the colors start to get over-saturated.

What's your experience with overexposure without the ND filter? I didn't use one. My results were perfect with just a UV filter and slightly underexposed.

All this talk about underexposing and overexposing recommendations...I think it boils down to what camera you are using. The advice is not a one size fits all. For me with my Nizo S800 with a UV filter, underexposing slightly generates perfect results. If overexposing works for you...then stick with it as that's what works for your specific camera.

I think that first of all, one should perfectly know how his camera works with a 100D inside, how it works with it in auto mode and how the lightmeter of that camera works. Otherwise we are mixing things and maybe we are not over nor underexposing the film, but simply make the camera expose correctly that film.

I find that Ektachrome 100D is best exposed as is. My Canons have no problem exposing it correctly in auto mode and if I select manually to over or underexpose this stock by 1/3, I found it over or underexposed in each case...

In my case, it's not just 100D but all film stocks (Plus X, Tri X, Velvia 50D, etc) are underexposed slightly and manually on my Nizo. Probably due to the condition of the TTL meter which was repaired about a year ago.
