It is usually the take up in the camera being too strong
Since the pressure plate is not used in these cases the only way to achieve this is to reduce the take up force.

Funny, because I remember them saying that your camera had to have a strong enough motor with enough torque to pull the film down because the negative film is thicker. Now they say the opposite? This is why they claimed to be pushing Beaulieu so much because the camera supposedly had a motor with a lot of tourque. Somewhat off the point, maybe they pushed Beaulieu because it was a "you scratch my back and I'll scratch your back" type of relationship when they were producing the 7008 model Which gave Pro 8mm a purchasing or a 1 or 2 free model advantage in addition to designing a new super 8 camera that fit pro 8mm's specs.
