Would a 100mm diameter lens with 200mm focal length do the job? I'm up for a bit of experimenting with DIY telecine, yet the condenser lens seems to be the hardest bit to get my head round.

What about these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Double-Convex-Len ... dZViewItem ?

Those say double convex. The condensers used for diy telecine are convex on one side and flat on the other. I would just grab an old Enlaerger and get the lens out of there..

Does that mean that double convex can't be used or just that none of the other people doing this are using them? If the former, how come?

Hi Ronnoco,
Why would a plano-convex lens be better than a double-convex?
