I had a cheap mostly plastic super 8 projector as a kid in the mid 70's I guess. It came with a film "Little Roquefort", a cartoon about a mouse. I don't have a clue what happened to the projector or the film.

This is the toy that started it all for me. From the early Seventies, made in Japan, standard 8mm, takes 6 D cells for the low power bulb and motor. I took it out of storage in my bedroom cupboard during my recent trip back to the UK.

Angus, I have Little Roquefort in my collection believe it or not, but he's gone all pink!

The film I had wasn't with sound, at least the projector couldn't produce sound! I remember in the winter sitting at the top of the stairs in the dark throwing an image across to the far wall. As I recall the film reel was white in colour, and I would guess it was 100 feet...I don't think it was as large as a 200 footer. I am sure it relied on batteries...either Cs or Ds.

I really wonder what hapened to it. I remember asking my dad what "Roqefort" was and of course he said "cheese"!
