ahhh, now we're talking. thats what i meant when i said it would take tons of film. i have a beaulieu, so basically would i have to sit there with a stop watch and a lot of patience?

Regular 8 is 16mm film split down the middle to make 8mm. Regular 8 has different sprocket holes than super8. You can not project super 8 on a regular8 projector or regular 8 on a super8 projector or 16mm on a regular 8mm projector. (BTW Normal8 and regular8 and split8 and double8 are the same)

However: there are such a thing as a DUAL projector that will project BOTH regular8 AND super\singel8 films (single8 is fujis "super"8- same format different cassette).

If your grandpa's projector is DUAL it can play both regular and Super.
