the flashscan uses a analog camera to capture the frames (can you still call this a scanner?), not sure what board the use internally to convert to SDI but i strongly hope they were clever enough to make it 10bit...
i guess we agree that on the other hand, the benefit of 10bit is not really that big unless you have to do *major* color corrections after the analog-digital conversion (which the flashscan doesnt as the primary cc is analog too)

yes, we agree. it's just that i've read that it's 8-bit somewhere and i think kent said so too when he was contemplating getting the sdi option.
