i saw this poll mentioned in another thread and just had to bring it back to the top. although the result so far is very interesting i simply can't believe only 20 people here use computers at all. :-)

I would personally like to object to the use of PC instead of Windows, but then again I am just being anal as I voted I run neither, I use a homebuilt computer(technically a PC) running Linux, although I do unfortunatly currently have to run windows inside of vmware in order to run any mainstream video editing software, I do ALL of my video capture, etc. inside of linux.

Jess, I posed this question on one of the Hostboard forums but you're the only one I've found actually running Linux for video work. Can you give more detail on your setup? I'm considering making my PC (running Windows95) a dual-boot system and using Linux for everything, including video editing using some freeware, unless I absolutely need windows. Thanks.
