Of course the ELMO 8S800 - best camera ever made. Most technique for little money. A Single-8 camera with 8x zoom (7.5-60mm), macro, 1, 18, 24, 48 fps, filming in reverse, fade in, fade out, dissolve, double exposure, and - most interesting - the variable shutter! o to 150 degrees. Small size, only 1 kg, detachable grip!

I like the Fujica ZC1000 best!

The camera body and the hand grip are so beautifull! The framecounter and all displays looks so professional.

hay hay hya hay. this poll is supposed to vote for the best looking design not the features or technology.

so i repeat: without any challenge in r8: Carena Zoomex.

if 8mm total off course the be(a)st cam is the zc1000.

Do you now mean the design or the technology?

I meant both the design and of course its technology, but in first place (under this poll) the design, its so stylish. Its so clear and timeless, besides the ZC1000 modern digital cameras look like dinosaurs.

this poll is about style and impression but the zc1000 would claim the top spot on technology for convenience - not outright technology.

the most technically advanced film camera ever made is easily the Canon 1014 XLS by a far margin - all gauges included.

looks shit but is inverse high on technology and precission.

Voted the "other" otion.

If I have to stick with super8, then Elmo super 104 or others with similar body construction should be my choice.

Overall favorite design is 16mm Kodak K-100 turret camera, B&H Filmo 70 series models are the runner-ups.

These all have te same basic functional outlooks, Bolexes are a bit too much like christmas trees.

Yes, my poll was sort of along the lines of: "best looking but with a big nod towards being able to use it without looking for this button or that knob. Or, if it helps, one that you just enjoy looking at."

Me? I love the Eumig Viennette 3 with its futurama looks. I also love the Zeiss Movikon for its original style and horizontal filming ability, while the Bolex 155 type is probably one of the best balanced cameras ever held (makes the Beaulieu look awkward). interestingly, I refuse to give up my B&H MS45 due to the wonderful control buttons on the CM4 control unit - WOW!

Generally, I think the nod goes to the regular 8 camera designers - for their time they offered the most features with the most thought put into their craft. The small wonders of the Bolex K2 or a triplet turret on a D8 is sheer craftsmanship...anyone have a picture of that double or triple lens sold on ebay in Italy once but it got pulled - I recall it due to the barrels being CURVED and not straight...most beautiful Bolex B/C/D model I have ever seen...Jeurgen? Anyone?

I have voted for the Beaulieu 4008. A camera with a noble name and fit for a noble's sense of style.

My favourite, most used camera is the 1014 xls, but your post is perposterous! Charmingly naive and preposterous!

I say, what of these cameras? Are they not wildly more technically advanced than the Canon 1014 xls, as perfectly smashing as it is for the film amateur such as us?

Or perhaps this is a strange joke that is lost on me? Is it your sense of humour that prevents me from understanding your posts and reasoning? Is your post in jest?

I believe that people are referring to Super 8 cameras, M'Lord. Of those, I agree that the Beaulieu 4008 is an object of desire. On the other hand, S8Man's new avatar is pretty hot.
