special fx ?
I am curious if anyone knows a good source for special fx, be it a web site or book even a magazine. I have found a few web sites that deal with fake blood and hands stuff of that nature, but as far as special fx literature i have't had much luck ....Thank you

Particularly, get the old, old back issues from a local comic book collector shop. Worth every penny because there was far less emphasis on computer imagery and more on models and physical effects.

I have a web page with some tips on how to make bullet hits without the use of squibs (small explosive charges). Much more will be added to the website in the near future. You can find my site at: http://www.postnukecomic.com/drespage/specialfx.html

Dre - your page on bullet hits is good. I had tried the rocket igniters a while back (before seeing your page) and never had very good results. I'm not sure if my ignition system was weak or what, but they just kind of glowed for a moment or two and sputtered - not enough to puncture the latex glove fingers I used for blood packs. I've been using compressed air to blow the blood from shots - fake blood is injected into the end of a tube that is sealed at the end, with a small hole plugged with foam rubber in the side wall. The air blows the chunks of foam out along with the blood.
