Nizo service

Post by akka10 »

Who is considered the best service people/person for Nizo? I have a 4080 I want to have looked at. I think it has a potential electrical fault. I have not powered it up in about a year, and it is not functioning correctly. When I put some fully charged batts into the accubox and into the camera, when I power up the 'power' button on the rear of the handgrip, the camera makes a whirring sound, even though I have not rolled the camera with the trigger. The camera continues to make a motor whirring sound, even though it is not rolling, and the only way to stop this, is by switching off the main power button and removing battery.
Anyone have any tips on who the best Braun Nizo S8 techs are these days? I am willing to send the camera away overseas, as I did with my Beaulieu and Bjorn. Otherwise I can always just go locally to Du-All here in New York (anyone had experience with Du-All Nizo servicing?)
I look forward to hearing any advice. I love my Nizo and she must be fixed!

I emailed the German folks mentioned on Chris Cotrill's super 8 site (http://www.omniprints.com/super8/) and got no response (nice - thank you sooo much!!! - note the sarcasm). I was asking them to service my 715XLS Bauer...

best of luck...

Gottfried Klose (the designer of the precision pressure plate) has a repair shop and does Nizos and bauers etc... he's definitely very dedicated to super8 and a nice person to deal with.

No they don't. They don't have anyone who speaks English. I know they are very busy too. Been waiting about 2-3 months for my cameras now.

Thanks! I guess it is worthwhile going to someone who actually has spare parts in stock and the Nizo knowhow. I doubt Du-All would have any spares ... I will just have to use a lot of bubble wrap and pack it well!!!

NIZO SERVICE

Post by schachi »

Hello,
I always send my NIZO cameras for repair to Kurt Schacherl here in Germany and I NEVER had a single problem with his work (which is indeed excellent).

I sent some NIZO and BAUER cameras to GK Film in Bielefeld and they took more money than Kurt Schacherl and did very bad work. Mr. Klose from GK-Film talks much about which excellent work he can do but actually he is not capable of fixing a NIZO or BAUER camera properly.

Best Wishes
