Just for my own edification I'm trying to work out what people are going to miss so much - I think these are the reasons - please add any suggestions if there's something else

Why can I only click one of the options?

Oh yeah - they're radio buttons - you can only do one
- you could probably vote then reload and select the next one - but it would be good if people only did one then we could see what the most favoured characteristic is

I took 'Pre-paid and/or Kodak processing' as it has been the most economic choice for the end user, and I also really enjoyed the convenience of just dropping off my films at a local post office and send it off to Switzerland, no additional correspondence or fees necessary.

I'd rate compatibility in second place, I really hope Kodak will introduce a new 40 or 160ASA color reversal emulsion in S8 in the future (compatibility with regular in-built daylight filters and direct projecting counts too).

Kodachrome nostalgia was fine but it's not the only thing that seperates S8 from DV that looks 'like it came out of my cat' as Film_Idaho put it. That's why I don't value K40's peculiar color and contrast that much. Grain is a part of S8 life, and those who'd like less because they're doing a professional project can use grain filtering in telecine.

I'm only concerned about archivability which comes in third place for me. What will 64T films look like in 20 years from now, maybe even just 5? As far as I can tell the need for transfers will rise now to save precious material from fading.

price? as for small grain size, it doesn't have that. the low grain comes from the softness of it, not the size.

Hands down it’s the colour! I love the retro look Kodachrome gives. About two days ago I was showing some friends my work and they wanted to know how I got the color, I told "It's true filming" :)

Case closed

I voted for 5, because it´s the simplicity of usage which makes it valuable. That in combination with the price.

Price and the color tones. The footage I shot for my most recent project was beautiful (then I converted it all to B&W :)

Grain is relative...K40 has smaller grain that 160 (and 64?!). Again, its not like we are comparing to non-S8 stocks...

I know you can't have a million polling options, but I vote for....

The challenge of making it look like 16mm. (by shooting it only when the conditions are right).

Isn't that the grain option?

How about life expectancy - stability/colour-fastness/shelf-life? After all, Kodachrome seems to outperform most others in this respect.
