Yes, Kodak is giving out 64t if you ask!

I explained that I and Mattias were pushing for Super8 and answering a lot of questions in a Swedish film forum page (we were, and still are). I wanted to shoot a bunch of carts of both the negative films and K40, some with the exact same scenes so we could judge the difference in color, grain and whatever.

I said I will put up clips on my webpage and show it to those not sure if they´d jump on the super8 train or not, just to show how good it can be.

Suddenly with the death of K40 it seems a lot less interesting to show up K40 to people (it has very short lifespan left).

Anyway I haven´t shot a single roll yet (I have no batteries for my Beaulieu 4008 yet, but soon.... But the summer is just about over here in Sweden, so all the good stuff to shoot is gone... )

I sent half of the reels to Mattias, he is good with his cameras, hell I am just a beginner but I was hoping to get at least a few great shots. We´ll see how it goes. I bet it just rains for weeks when I finally receive the batteries....

Ten reels of K40 and ten reels of V2 200T was pretty nice of Kodak, all for free (well I guess they see it as free advertising so we both win).

Wow all those carts thats still very nice and partially forgivable for killing k40, delaying 64T, and whatever other problems.

Film_Idaho maybe try saying that you're a student and you want to convince your school to start a feasible cheap film program or try getting them to lower the price if you put them in the credits or something. That's my plan because I think when we all jumped the gun and e-mailed them for a test cart suddenly all at once Kodak got suspicious.

Hahahaha... Yeah but for me it has been 4 full days and still nothing from our friend KODAK. So I'm hoping they liked what I said and they will send me a fresh one .

As for the cheap film program. I go to a High School and I can bet my money that I am the only person in the school who uses film. Sad but true . I have always thought of starting a club but who would join it? I only wish I lived 20 years ago!

GOSH! Did you think I was living under a freaking rock? Of course I have seen Napoleon Dynamite it’s like my favorite movie I watch it like a religion . I have also been to Preston may times, I live less then an hour from there.

I know many adults don’t like Napoleon Dynamite but if you really look at the cinematography it’s actually well done film. The DVD rocks!

Well, you started the S.O.K. club here and got people to join. What have you got to lose? Start with your friends and then turn as many people on as you can about the WONDERS of film.

Yeah, I said something like that. Also j/k. It all seemed like too much work for a single cart--but I'm lazy sometimes.

sooper8fan: Which also will answer your question from the other thread about shooting this past weekend with the R10. No, couldn't get inspired so we ended up we lounging around in bed all weekend, taking it easy. Hopefully next week.

Yeah, I've basically seen that movie about 50 times. One technical reason I like it so much is because it's simple. No stupid green screens (not that ALL green screens are stupid). Off hand I can't even picture, but is there even a tracking shot in the entire movie? Definitely no steadicam work. If you look closely when the school bus drives by you can see the crew's reflection of legs and tripod in the glass.
I love that movie and I'm not an adult....I'm 26...hehe

I know, lame. But all I have is K40 ("my precious..."), and the thought of doing a bunch of tests with a new camera...

I don't know, a little gun-shy, I suppose. I guess I'll go over to Kodak today and get some B&W. I feel much more comfortable with it for test shooting and I won't risk wasting the K40. (My girlfriend, reading OMS, says, "let's just shoot that shit.") LOL. :lol:

And I know what you mean. I really hate to waste film on tests, especially film stock that's not long for this world. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that somebody at Kodak, like you said, may not "get the memo" and we'll have K40 forever.

Its THX, sitting in the white "prison." From THX-1138. Its a wallpaper from the official DVD site, I think, or from some THX-1138 fan site. I can't remember.

well, again: *always* call kodak before doing *anything*. i *never* pay full price, and if you do you're paying *too much*. if you're a student you'll get a student discount, if you're on a low budget you'll get a low budget discount, if you're a professional dp they want to keep you around so they'll give you good offers, if you're testing you get free test rolls, and so on. that's how they work. otherwise it's like buying rugs at a north african bazaar at the advertised price. they'll dismiss you as a lunatic if you try. ;-)

The free Kodak E64T test cartridges have all been given to customers willing to evaluate the film and complete a questionnaire about the film's characteristics. No more are available. Unfortunately for the hundreds of cartridges provided over the last few months, only a handful of completed questionnaires have been returned. Professional filmmakers evaluating new 16mm and 35mm films from Kodak have a much better rate of response.

I'm disappointed in those who only think of this test as a way to get "free" film for personal use.

Even so, based on results of Kodak's internal testing and those of filmmakers bothering to return the questionnaires, further optimization of E64T is underway. That's why the introduction date has been delayed.
