Incorrectly interpreted, this is how rumors get started.
A while ago, Kodak replaced the Vision 200T (not 220) with the Vision2 200T. The Kodak ref number is now #7217 as opposed to the old Vision 200T which was ref #7274. Vision 500T (Kodak ref #7279) was replaced with Vision 2 500T (ref #7218). Kodak 250D (ref #7246) was replaced with 250D (ref #7205). All they're doing is updating the stock. The greatest improvement I've experienced, in order, has been with 1) V2 500T 2) V2 250D and 3) V2 200T.
Technically, yes, Kodak is discontinuing the Vision stock. But they've replaced it with Vision 2 stock. So, essentially, the only stock they're discontinuing is the 320T, that few I I know of used, anyway.
I have sent an email asking for a cartridge too. I made my mission clear, that my results will be on the home movie side; not professional, documentary etc.
So we shall see what happens.

yeah, i've heard that ford are discontinuing cars. surely that must be how we should interpret the fact that they stopped making the 2005 models a while ago? :-)

Nah, Ford hasn't stopped making cars... but they do seem to have stopped MAKING MONEY making cars. They lose money on many if not most of the autos they sell here in the US. Must be the new capitalism? ;-)
after emailing Kodak asking for a test cart of 64T, somebody from Kodak replied with the following: "That product will not be available for a few months. We plan to launch that product before the end of the year".
All I have to say to that Kodak rep is "bite me".

Anything would be an improvement on 7279. That stock was terrible. I have 600 ft of it in my fridge from like 3 years ago. No doubt it is destined to be scratch test footage.

Well thats dumb . I sent Kodak a email on Saturday and still nothing back. When did you guys email them? And how did you do it (like your tone of the letter and stuff like that)?
I think approach of the email is what gives you the freebie but what do I know. Anyways thats sucks, I hope I get some .
how did you do it (like your tone of the letter and stuff like that)?
I said "gimme the film you a-holes". j/k I just said I was hoping to get a cart of it so I could test to see if it would be the right choice for my next project. When I got that email from them, I replied with stuff like "actually, you're wrong. I know for a fact that there is some that is available right now for test purposes....." blah blah blah. I'm sure I"ll never hear back.

I never got an email response back, they just sent the cart. It came from their Chicago office with the business card of a Mr. Ben Stone (regional accounting manager) attatched to the question sheets. Even gave me his phone #...
When I got some K40 and V2 200T, for the test shots I am doing with Mattias help, I never got a e-mail reply either. Suddenly I just got a bunch of films delivered to me.
Well its been 4 days and still nothing. when did you all email Kodak? WAIT! you got some K40 and V2 for FREE? Thats cool were you like "I need to test some for a upcoming shoot?" LUCKY!
