You've got yourself a fine excellent projector. The 700 series of Eumig projectors are built like tanks and they run fine with no flicker. Maybe later you should get the Eumig S710D or S712D for dual R8-S8 formats along with the separate gates and sprocket wheels.
Also, if you need a projector with an 18-24FPS variable speed later for Super8 only, the Eumig S907 or S910 is your basic do it all excellent projector.

All Eumigs are having a very good reputation. Very well made, with heavy metal parts, made to run forever!

However, before you run it the first time, you must examine the entire path of the film very well. And clean it, of cource!

FWIW, virtually no properly functioning/undamaged projector will shred your film's perfs. On the other hand, even the most reliable projector can damage your film if it's not properly functioning. I've used 4-5 different projectors, some in very rough shape, and have never had any significant film damage result.

I have a Eumig 824 Sonomatic - very nice machine. Quiet, smooth, with sharp images, positive controls, easy threading, and good quality.

thanks, im new to super8 and i have just been stressing that im going to damage my only cut of my film.
