I believe the student discount is at least 10%.film_idaho wrote:They should really have some poor student fund... Ahhhhh I wish I didn't feel pushed to buy so much Kodachrome right now! Why can't they just keep K40, I bet they have had some of the best sells in years!
Nah, just accept that Kodachrom is the past and something else is the future. Buy a few K40 if you can afford them, shoot, learn and have fun... but don't feel like you need K40 to make S8 shooting worthwhile. IMHO you will get a better film foundation starting out w/black and white anyway, and the S8 B/W stocks are nice. (A great big raspberry to all y'all Tri-X haters out there.)film_idaho wrote: I really picked a odd time to go into Super 8 because people are freaking out telling everyone to stock up for years and i can only buy so many!!
Everybody wants the cake and the simultaneous eating of it, as the saying goes... we want film to be relevant, current, modern, practical even... and at the same time we're unwilling to accept even the modern, current, relevant offerings within the film world, instead choosing to cry, cry, cry about the death of a 40 year old, 14-stage, nasty emulsion/chemistry.film_idaho wrote: JUST KEEP KODACHROME!!! Then my life would be so much better and stress free!
Hell, man -- you're YOUNG. You should be laughing at us all for trying to hold on to the past. Instead, get out there and show us how it's done with the newest film stocks available for the format. It'll be more fun than hoarding Kodachrome, I assure you...film_idaho wrote: Just keep K40 (in Super 8) for 10 more years!![]()
That's because the folks at freetranslation.com don't watch The Simpsons. Although Sideshow Bob's poor command of German has been referenced numerous times on the Simpsons' forums. Fortunately, it's only a joke."The (feminine) Kodachrome, The!" (translated from the German)
EDIT: OK, ok... even freetranslation.com says:
"Der kodachrome, das"
