man hit by a car then head on fire.....

I have a scene in a short movie Im doing where a man gets hit by a car, then he is flying thtough the air, while flying through the air his head and body (maybe not all of his body) catches on fire.

Now the hit by a car bit isnt too hard I think, I'll cut to a close up shot of the man then the car then the man flying in the air, my main problem is the mans head on fire. My short movie pretty much depends on this scene looknig ok, (i dont expect it to look great due to budgetary restrictions "girlfirend"

what I thought was getting a manequien from somewhere, and setting it on fire and hurling it through the air. I thought I'd have a couple of cameras setup for the closeup shot, medium and maybe a far shot. Though this does seem a bit difficult, doesnt anyone have any ideas how else I could do this scene.

Sometimes when one dwells on a solution long enough its hard to see an easier alternative one?
