I recently pickup up a Pentax K mount to C mount adapter for my 4008ZMII. I wish to buy a another pentax K mount lens to use on both my SLR and Beaulieu. Has anyone here ever done this and what focal length would one recommend. I was thinking about a Tamron 28mm-210mm or a Tamron 75mm-300mm. Is the 75mm going to be too telephoto for handheld work. Also, what would the above focal lengths equate to for super 8?
Thanks in advance.
Ralphie.

I remember Bjorn telling me to multiply by 6.3, which puts you into telescope territory.Ralphie wrote: I was thinking about a Tamron 28mm-210mm or a Tamron 75mm-300mm. Is the 75mm going to be too telephoto for handheld work. Also, what would the above focal lengths equate to for super 8?

They translate into the same focal lengths. You need a wide angle lens to use as normal in Super8 - 10-13mm.Ralphie wrote:I recently pickup up a Pentax K mount to C mount adapter for my 4008ZMII. Technically correct, but I think Ralphie was trying to get at whether the lenses would be too extreme to use. The answer is that the image will appear magnified over 6x what one would see in a 35mm SLR viewfinder. That makes it very difficult to use the lenses he mentioned without an extremely solid tripod.Lunar07 wrote:They translate into the same focal lengths. Exactly. It makes sense to me now. And as Lunar07 mentioned, I will try to find something closer to the 10-13mm bracket, maybe even a prime.reflex wrote: Technically correct, but I think Ralphie was trying to get at whether the lenses would be too extreme to use.
