I bought a Bolex H16 m5 with the pan cinor lens that has the viewfinder atach to it, but I do not know how to separate from the main body of the lens.
the manual does not explain how to do it but maybe some of you have the same lens and perhaps know how to take it apart.
Thanks in advance for your help. This is the link to the Auction

I have a camera and lens setup just like this. The viewfinder tube unscrews just beyond the dogleg from the lens. You should see the seperation line where it does. Once removed you should be able to unscrew the lens itself. Nice sharp lens and makes a good compliment to this camera and the M4 I also use it on. I also have an Anegenieux zoom witrh reflex finder but the viewfinder tube on that one swivels out of the way.
If you need further help I can post pictures on how to do this.

I have the same set-up, an M5 with a Pan-Cinor. It's interesting to me that my Pan-Cinor continues to function perfectly, with smooth focusing and aperture controls, while many newer lenses have dry or sticky focusing helicals. The viewfinder takes its light before the aperture blades so you always have a nice bright viewfinder image; however, you can't judge depth of field visually as you're looking at an aerial image rather than a groundglass. To what was said before, I'd add that once you have your lens set up on your camera the way you want it, you should probably just leave the lens on. Because you have to remove the viewfinder tube to remove the lens from the camera body, changing lenses is a pain. Unfortunately the lens doesn't offer a true wide angle, as it only goes down to 17mm at the wide end. Still, a very nice "run and gun" outfit.

Do you have the Pan Cinor 17-85mm lens? Do you have the long tube viewfinder or a short one? Did Som Berthiot ever make a short viewfinder tube for this lens?
Does yours provide a clear color image or has it yellowed with age? The yellowing can be either from "radioactive glass" breakdown or from lens cement ageing; the latter can be somewhat reduced by aiming the lens at the sun for several hours and light bleaching the lens cement (probably off the camera so you don't melt the shutter).
When shooting you'll want to cover the viewfinder so that light leakage doesn't fog the film.

I explained it as best as I could. If you have the camera from the auction link there is a manual for the lens. I'll see about posting some pictures tonight.cortometrajes wrote:Herb Montes Wrote: If you need further help I can post pictures on how to do this.

I also have the same kind of motor (I have two MST in fact) with battery pack but with the wrong connector. I may have to rewire it. Though I do have an EM motor as well with a battery pack that runs well with the magazine motor.

Okay, I didn't get a chance to post pictures last night because I got busy. I'll see if I can do it tonight.
I did notice the MST motor you got has the 7-pin jack. The battery pack that came with my MST motor has the 7-pin connector but will not work with my motor since it requires the 5-pin connector. I was planning on changing out the plug but maybe my battery pack will work better with your motor. I'll post a picture of it as well if you might consider wanting it. I find it odd that your pack does not have a cord since these are usually hard wired in. If it needs one I could wire one myself.
