Congrats for getting your money back - or at least the bulk of it. My apologies for my earlier comment about you jumping the gun. The correct thing for the seller to do was to process your return immediately with a minimum of fuss.

Just so you know that things like this make a difference in the world -- you made me jump onto my company's web site to double-check our return policy "We cannot refund shipping charges and all returns must be shipped to us freight-prepaid."

That's in line with the industry, and we make damn sure that we ship a replacement as fast as possible if a customer receives a unit that's been run over by a truck, which happened once. I was stunned that U*S attempted "normal" delivery of the resulting electronic pancake.

Cheers, James

I think you are probably right to call it quits there. You can then put it out of your mind - if you are not used to that kind of thing then I am sure it can be stressful.

Sadly I spend quite a lot of time chasing people for money and so I get used to it.

Had some builders run in on a deal recently to pay my company a "finders fee" for a residential development site we passed on to them. I spent £1500 already in legals chasing the £7500 they agreed to pay. Its my fault because, having employed them and got on well with them in the past, I took their word that they would pay up, and now they are trying the "I know nothing aproach" So it is a friendship down the drain too.

So I think you have done well to get what you have.

Hello,

For first you must to cancel this payment because I will not sent it twice.
Second - the German law is for November 2004 changed where I can choose to pay shipping cost back or not.
When you want Paypal fees back than pay 18.50 Euro for shipping and I will cancel your first payment.

Best regards

Uhmeyer
this is funny, this should be your response:

"for first" you have to learn proper english, let me know when you get there, then please email me again, as i cant understand a word out of this rubbish"

lies, lies lies....WHAT do you expect from a "some fly-by-night Ebayer here today, gone tomorrow", hm? Want some real advice next time? If he's gonna playing dead man again then file a complaint at PayPal and get all your money back. It's so simple, play the same game as he does with you.

WHAT do you expect from a guy who's running a dozen of webshops on eBay? The only real thing he's selling is "cameras", he gives a s**t if it's a super 8mm or a digital one. Learn from it and save your valuable time. At least you've raised your voice, I bet there are plenty of other people who remain silent. Leave a negative follow up on eBay, warn the others, get all the rest of your money, because it's clearly _not_ your fault. Especially after such an awful "customer care".

Now that you have the bulk of the cash returned I would say that there is not an awful lot to loose?

Matt
you would.

I just don't understand why he sent you on wrong email id; I mean you has to use the same email id via you sent him euros?
secondly: you can request paypal to give you order summary; all states on such summary. [who is at risk and all]
I don't know what shipping company you used; so can't say much about it. but I found that you got refund..good news but I have stated my concerns above..

Blimey, that was a blast from the past! Cripes - you could still buy Kodachrome 40 in the shops back then, and nobody knew what 64T was!

I found myself a nice Canon 1014XL-S not long after and shot with that for 4 years before selling it last summer!

Tears;
it is good to see you recover from tense situations quickly.
good to see you used Canon 1014XL-S fully and with satisfaction. [4 years is a big time]
Thanks God!

Quickly? I'm not sure you realize this, but the last post before yours was five and a half years ago!
