Disposable Video Camera

Post by T-Scan »

I just heard a news story about a disposable video camera coming out. It costs $29.95, shoots 20 minutes of footage.. can't plug into a TV but costs another $13 to get processed. thats all they said. they didn't say anything about format.
100D and Vision 3 please

Reminds me of my first 3 video camera - cost hundreds, lasted 6 months, then broke and I had to dispose of them.

This makes me wonder why kodak never sold disposable super8 cameras for $29.99 USD. Super8 and 8mm have been around forever, so if not today why not in the 80's?

I just looked at the disposable video camer and got me thinking. Why can't a digital super8 cart be made today? Super8 film gates are small, so the CCD can also be small (which means cheaper) I think it would be interesting to have a ccd equppied super8 sixed cart that uses CF flash cards to store data. Just plug it in and shoot away

Wait a sec... why can't they just do that NOW?

Disposable movie camera, including a DVD copy after you're done shooting with it.

OK, I saw that one. It's about the only thing I could find...
I was thinking there was some PR for it or something.

I have the funniest article from super8filmaker where kodak is pretty much saying video is better then film. Why on earth would kodak ever say that?

If its not copyright infringment to post it, I would love to post it, its way to funny.

Royalbox you are so right!

I could see these things being used in "developing nations" where videocameras are hard to come by, or as something you could distribute to people to document natural disasters or human rights violations, but to sell them in a consumer oriented societies seems wasteful.

Maybe if we don't buy they they will just go away.

I don't get it...all you need is some output hole and a simple delete button and presto - reuseable...disposable video make no sense..disposable film cameras, yes; digital, no.

Make me appreciate my Sony MD-View MPG-2 direct minidisc camcorder...I love that thing...

This mpg4 thing makes me laugh...pure crap.
