Ok, you got me, now what Camera?
Super 8 cameras seem pretty thin on the ground here (Perth Australia), at least anything other than your plastic 18fps cheapo models.. though the K40 film is easy to find, so someone must be shooting.
The main shop here that sells old camera gear... only has one 2nd hand item in there shop.. and its NOT cheap!
Beaulieu 4008 ZM4 with Schneider zoom lens 6 to 66mm F1.8 $2,500.00
and is about the same price as a 16mm camera
Bolex H16 reflex RXVS camera body + 18-86mm F2.5 Vario Switar lens$2,500.00
Any other well renowned Super8 shops in the world which I could mail-order from?
Daniel.

I bought a Nizo Pro from here:
http://www.super8camera-shop.com/shop/index.html
In mint condition and arrived very quickly. I would not hesitate to buy another camera from this guy. Others may have had different experiences.
Otherwise you might wish to plumb carefully the depths of e-bay - consider very carefully the description of the camera, the sellers feedback etc and ask questions if need be... and be realistic about how much to pay for a camera - eg a $50 Nizo pro is very likely to be a bag of shite..... I usually monitor the condition and prices of particular models for a month or two before picking an auction to bid on...

Yes the Minolta is nice. In fact it is the only Super8 Camera I actually use these days. If you have the $$$ the Canon is a fine camera, as posted earlier finding an 814 is always an option at a better price. I recently sold an 814 to a friend for $100.00 US. Kind of sorry that I did now, good chance from a conversation he and I had last week that I may buy it back. Why not buy the Minolta and give S8 a try?

$2500 for a Beaulieu ZM4 is extortion, I think. You should be able to find a good Beaulieu ZM2 or ZM4 for around $500 in working condition, and maybe only needs a battery recell. If you buy a Beaulieu, you won't regret it. I already had a good camera (Elmo 1012XL), but found a good deal on a Beaulieu ZM2. The ZM2 sat in my closet for a while but I eventually used it for the first time, fell in love with it, and now it's the only super8 camera I use. I love it so much that I want to find his 16mm older brother...

Hi there,
Try contacting +AnonymousGuest+ he's a member on this forum and has some seriously top and mint condition Super 8 gear for sale and he is in Oz! He is a great guy, and I recommend you contact him. (he has posted an add on this webiste)
Otherwise, if you're after Serviced and repaired Nizo's go to http://www.merzbarn.com Guy Parker has a reputation second to none for service and expertise regarding these cameras. The prices are high, but for a fully serviced and calibrated Nizo you get what you pay for.
All the best

I just bought a Beaulieu 4008 ZM 4 with a Schneider 1,4 / 6-70 on ebay for 280 EUR last sunday. The camera body was a bit scratched but the seller guaranted that it was in good working condition. Also a new battery (700mA/h). And a mate box which looked nice. Hoping to recieve it this week.Paul L. wrote:$2500 for a Beaulieu ZM4 is extortion, I think. Get yourself a disposable, plastic almost pinhole lens, manual Super 8, I got one just like this for £2.00 at a boot sale last year. Somebody's selling one for £20.00 on ebay... I would bid if the start was £0.99...
[EDIT]
Mine's got a Sun Opt Aux Wide Angle Lens. It's got three f stops, sunny, partly sunny, and cloudy, and one indoors w/lamp. f16, 11, & 5.6. Cheapo, but looks good to outsiders...
