How to save Kodachrome : The solution!

Post by snaggs »

Start emailing paul simon. You guys need media coverage, he'd get media coverage and all the baby boomers would get nostalgic about their young days. They might even get nostalgic and buy some Kodachrome!

On the basis of all that good media coverage, it could work out cheaper for them to keep K40, that the bad press of killing the baby boomers memories.

Here is the official site

and heres the email

joey.berger@paulsimonmusic.com

There will be good publicity for paul simon in being the "hero" too.

Kodachrome, it gives us those nice bright colors
Gives us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah!
I got a Nikon camera, I love to take a photograph
So mama, don't take my Kodachrome away

Dude....K40's outta here. Let it go. As painful as it is to say goodbye to it, you just have to accept it. If for some reason Kodak decides to change their mind, great! This topic has been driven into the mud and many of us are tired of hearing ideas to save it.
I wish K40 was staying just as much as anybody. But it's not. Bring on the 64T.

You should not say "Goodbye K40" before we know the quality of K40. This is far to early!

The biggest mistake of Kodak was to end with K40 before we all could test 64T.

I've also thought about that Paul Simon idea but was afraid he wouldn't listen to a bunch of film loonies. After all, do we really know he was singing about Kodachrome in his song? Or could it be a song about lack of education and social interaction, expressed by someone who in spite of his 'lack of education', 'can read the writing on the wall' which happens to be a commercial ad poster?

Where are you going to get the list? I don't think that's a matter of public record.

I agree this would have been a good idea, however, they ARE Kodak. I think they know what they're doing.

I think Juergen meant to say "You should not say "Goodbye K40" before we know the quality of Ektachrome 64. This is far to early!

Never hurts to get people excited about a new old product before dumping
a mainstay. The linking of the introduction of Ektachrome 64 with the axing of Kodachrome 40 was not necessary, however, perhaps it was necessary from the shareholders point of view.

Do they know what they are doing? Who knows. Do they have the power to do it? Obviously!

Post by alan doyle »

all those people that are happy to roll over, and just except this, then complain about too many kodachrome threads...
i have a great idea,do not read the threads...
kodak can and will be flexible,in this...
it may be the end...
but me i am gonna fight, and come judgement day i can hold my head up and say...i tried to do something godamit!

as the man said.....One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one..

we are stronger together, divide and we are finished...
