Hows the Beaulieu 5000 multispeed?

Post by casonova197 »

I know for sure the quality surpasses such cameras as the canon 1014, and nikon's. But I cant figure how good the variation of its shutter anywhere. Does any own one with any good information on this camera?

you already know more than we do then ;)

the main advantage of the beaulieus is the ground glas andthat you can hange the lens. the lens on the canon and nikon can hold up with most c-mount lenses though.

ps: the camera model number is 5008 MS

only the few earliest 5008 models has variable shutters as far as i know and the later ones has definately not and you don´t need it either.

It's one of the most silent super 8 cam's around, comparable to the Nizo 6080. I heard it is more silent than the Bealieu 6008 and up....

It has a mirror shutter as well.. no prism..

my freshly serviced 5008 is definitely much louder than both nizo 6056 and one 4080 i have.

i yet have to find a camera which can even keep remotely up with the 6056 in terms of noise.

Yes. I appreciate all the info. I been reviewing cameras, and their manuals for a couple of weeks now. And believe I went with the greater choice. I was gonna go with the Canon 1014xls, or a Nizo for economical reasons. But something led me to a Beaulieu 5008 multispeed. I purchased one recently today on Ebay. Furthermore, I hear the possibility of good quality under low lighting circumstances because of its lens (optivran). Even thought I might be changing the lens since there is a c-mount. Thanks alot
