I often question if I am crazy, as people often tell me, for using Super8 instead of video. Why, I ask myself, do I put myself through it. I can't easily shoot indoors, have to sync up sound, worry about footage, worry about camera noise, worry about exposure, worry about jittery cartridges, worry about whether I have actually got the scene in the bag.
Viewing the footage can often make it all seem worthwhile, but still....this is a madman's game! We're all nuts - the guy's right - this is eccentric stuff we do, an no mistake. I have said it before and I'll say it again - if anyone out there wants to swap me a Digibeta cam for my Super8 kit, you're on. I still don't own a video camera, but would like one for making a black and white film - I hate DV colour, but black and white's not so bad.
