Anybody have Fomapan dev in UK?

The Widescreen Centre will send your films to Andec in Berlin, who will do an excellent job of processing...but the Widescreen Centre will take a 35% profit.

To save money send your films direct to Andec in Berlin, including your credit card details (or send euros cash).

They're excellent. I think Simply Cine also send their films to Andec (NOBODY in the UK processes 8mm films themselves, apart from enthusiasts who hand process at home).

I did send two rolls to Andec and am waiting for the return.
No processor was found in the UK either.
It was very easy to send the film from the local Post Office; a short letter in a 20p bubble bag with the film can and 49p postage and it's off via air mail.
Since they are the only processor found so far they will get the Plus-X rev as well.

They send it to Andec in Berlin.

I repeat, there is no laboratory anywhere in the UK that processes ANY super 8 or standard 8mm film. Bucks FIlm Labs might still be prepared to do it....with a £300 setup fee in advance!!"£&^

Basically Simply Cine (great company though they are) and the Widescreen Centre will send your films either to Andec or to Kahl. Usually Andec because they're cheaper.


You can save at least 1/3 on processing by sending to Andec directly yourself, and now they take credit and debit cards it's easier than ever.

Has your film returned yet? I've found them getting a little slow of late with my 7240....but still the best option available by some way.

Nothing yet. I'm on pins and needles. This waiting for the developed film to arrive is one of the coolest parts of the medium. I can tell by the drop of the mail into the house if it came or not, then I look all around outside before the mail person gets away; perhaps tomorrow.

The two reels of Regular 8mm Fomapan arrived today from Andec here in the UK. Both reels were in one small package. The second one was sent on a Monday, Feb., 10, the first on the previous Friday, and they arrived today, February, 26, 2003. 16 days.

It looks like I had better learn how to use my light meter. A lot of them are dark, some are too light, some are just right. The best are when I used a gray card, indoors. The sky outside overwhelms any readings. It looks as if I must totally ignore the sky and only take a reading off the ground. Close up shots were best outside, the sky wasn't in the picture at all for them. It looks like close up readings will be best outdoors or I could try a graycard outdoors.

Numbers on the reels didn't match those on the film box, so, I didn't know which reel was which. Titles are needed. My business card on a frame or two will be first this time.

The receipt was all in German and no catalog was provided.

I can't transfer the film yet using the WorkPrinter because of supply voltage problems; an adapter has been ordered. I could use the rear projection screen and the Elmo variable speed projector.

I do not know if the film was lubercated or not. Guess I'll find out when I project it tonight or whenever.

I don't think anybody lubricates film these days unless you pay extra. Andec have their entire catalogue in English on their website.

I dont know how you send the two films, but it takes long time.
Your sending 7.2.03 arrived on 18.2.03.
Your sending 10.2.03 arrived on 14.2.03
Both are developed on our normal processing day 20/21.2.03

All our invoices are in German, and in short form in english.
Informations normally send to new customers, or if changing the prices. Order form looks like reading the website. Why should we send a lot of paper, if it is not necessarry. Possible, that postfee are more expensive if we send a lot of papers .
To all users of this forum , please make sure, that all sendings are
with the air mail sign. That could be a reason, why some sendings
takes long time. If films arrive our lab in time, it takes only 1-2 days for processing.
