All shooters:Get a chance to mesure the weight of forum !!!
According to Bob Mayson, head of motion picture image capturing at Kodak (from pip interview) : "S8 K40 sales are a drop in the ocean, with only
100,000 cartridges sold per year"
What part of this drop are we ? To mesure our weight for any futher petition or what-ever, I propose that anybody on this forum tell how many cartridge Kodachrome he did bought last year.
I begin : NONE ( ok, this ain't a good start but I was busy on still photography. That also why I wasn't here.)

K40
OK... I bought 3 carts of K40, shot one myself and sent one each to my nephews in Korea.
Def. a drop in the bucket compared to the other S8 stocks I've shot the past 12 months or so -- some 50 or 60 carts of Plus-X, Tri-X and color neg.

Ten bought, seven shot. Plus two half-exposed rolls from FleaBay cameras.
I doubt I'll buy more. My next reversal purchase will be Plus-X, followed by 64T when it's available in August.

17 carts K40, 5 carts Plus-X. I've shot 2 of the K40 and none of the Plus-X (will be used for my summer film).

In my case the problem is, I discovered S8 is alive this year (about 2 months ago actually).Basstruc wrote:To mesure our weight for any futher petition or what-ever, I propose that anybody on this forum tell how many cartridge Kodachrome he did bought last year.
But for these two months I bought 3 cardridges. I think I'll buy at least one more next month.
Further future is hazy. ;)

Ten bought, seven shot. I am leaning more towards DS-8mm which is more in keeping with my love of R-8mm and 16mm... it's a roll thing...
and for my experience S-8mm equipment is just too much on the fragile side. My overall shooting has been way down the last few years, but I have hopes to rekindle the fires in the near future.
