I don´t think so. I get good results with Kahl B&W reversal and negative stocks using Kaccema cartridges. Concerning Kahl´s services (developing, telecine, etc) I´ve got nothing to say, cause I develop these Kahl stocks at home.
BTW, Kaccema´s metal pressure plate can be improved just re-polishing the plate´s surface and doing a new chromium bath.
Sunrise, with the demise of K40A, I am looking into getting large quantities of Casseta (how the cyrillic is pronounced) carts and I am wondering if you could get me a bulk discount for buying multiple units. Maybe I'll start out with 50 and work my way up. I'm going to respool them with K40A, have an arrangement with D'Waynes so they send them back to me, and then repeat the process over again. Another question: does the company that makes casseta or any other reloadable S8 cartridge make them new, or are you selling carts from a warehouse somewhere with production being stopped?
Yes, Kaccema is Russian for Cassette. Most people know them by that name since it is printed on the label.
The cassettes are actually quite rare, but can be found in small numbers once in a while if you search for them. I did get a small number of carts that I chose to distribute to other forum members. For now I have only 3 cassettes left. But I am trying to set up another distribution thing with a guy from Mosfilm.
The cassettes are all used, I don't think they are being made anymore, although someone mentioned that the ones Kahl have are new (although I doubt that they are much more than cleaned and re-labelled).
For a large other like the one you mentioned I suggest you contact Kahl and try to set up a deal with them.
I think the cassettes will be easy to remanufacture, most of the plastic parts are anyway. It's just the metal parts I'm more concerned with. And I am not really shure how much the final price will be. Maybe I should look into this... I think I will start a new thread...

According to the Wittner site and possibly others. Kodak needed to invest 100's of 1000's (multiple 100.000) to have new molds manufactered. So, it all depends on what is defined as easy. And wasn't there a problem with the industrial rights of the cartrdige design?
I was told by a lab owner here in Amsterdam that there used to exist a S8 refiller in Bruxelles. Who cut open used Kodak's and refilled these...
Then I would opt for Agfa cartrdiges as these far more easier to open and made into refillable things. Euh, for hobby purposes. BTW Andec will return your Kaccema when they process the content.
I wouldn't like it if newer Agfa Moviechromes (white and blue or white and red boxes) would leave the market only for their cartridges as these films hold up pretty well over the years before shooting. Anyway, I think you could ask Frank Bruinsma what happens to the cartidges of all those films he processes.

Do they "sprechen zie Anglisch?" I only know the German I've picked up from WWII movies, sorry to say. I know Russian and a bit of Polish, Latin, and Spanish, but not German. DER-DEN-DEM-DER is about the only conjugation I remember, and since it's just the Deutch equivalent of "THE" that's not much help. Is anyone fluent in both German and English enough to translate a very technical and complicated English letter into German?
I could lend my hand for that translation FilmIsForever. However, do you intend to write to those German companies Wittner, Andec, or Kahl, or do you intend to write to Belgian ADF Video? I suppose though that all of them would be quite able to speak the English language. I suggest mailing them in English first and if they can't understand anything, ask here again about a proper translation of details.
