Loading 100 ft Camera spools (16mm) myself
I have a few thousand feet of 16mm color neg stock on 400ft rolls. I would love to spool some of it onto 100ft rolls to use in my Filmo 70HR.
Is there any reason why I couldn't/shouldn't do this myself??? I have spare 100ft camera spools with boxes and a set of 16mm rewinds. My guess is that I could spool the 400ft onto an empty 400ft roll in a dark room and then rewind the film onto 100ft rolls.
Seems simple. Am I missing something obvious??
Thanks for any help.

me neither, but is there double perf negative other than as a special order? i thought even the black and white negative stocks had been discontinued as double perf. it doesn't matter either way though since what *is* mentioned is that he's already planning on tranferring to an empty core and rewinding onto the spools. :-)

Thanks for all of the help. My plan was already to spool onto another 440ft roll and then rewind onto 100ft roll, hence:

Glad to confirm that this will work and keycodes should remain correct.
As far as the 400ft. mag for my Filmo, I have one but I am of the understanding that I need the electronic motor to pull that much film through the camera. The motor seems very rare. I've seen several in auctions with a complete Filmo package but I don't need a whole package, kinda defeats the purpose of having a cheap camera.
Again, thanks to all.
