Right, now is the time to ride the wave of emotion, the heated passion that shows little signs of slowing down. No argument. I'll add my voice to yours.

No, but why would we expect it to be? It would have been nice if Kodak had hosted focus groups and tried to really discover how best to meet our needs, but it is usually competition for a lucrative market that drives a company to do that sort of thing. Kodak has no competition in Super 8. No one is making Super 8 cameras anymore and it's unlikely that anyone will start doing so again, so Super 8 film sales will never again become a growth market.

No business can survive without beans.

it is a 13-15 years old...how can it be...
This is the remark I have the biggest problem with. It's just too general. I don't know how 64T will stack up against other potential S8 film stocks, but it is simply not true that new films are always better than old films. Better in what way? 64T is newer than Kodachrome, but it is doubtful that it is better in every respect. It's better in that it can be readily processed by hundreds of labs around the world, but it's not better in terms of archival qualities. IMO, there has never been a black and white sheet film that has come close to the magic of Super XX. The new-fangled T-MAX T-grain films don't have near the expansion and contraction capability of the old Super XX, nor do they offer visually better resolution in an 8x10 contact print. On the other hand, the T-MAX films are cheaper to manufacture than Super XX was, and are less environmentally damaging to manufacture and to process, and are more economical in the use of silver, and can be processed more efficiently. You have to qualify such statements. You can't just say new films are better.

hey, alan ... whatever happened to this "best news in years" project you had on the go this time last year? where you were going to pay for all these different stocks yourself, distribute them to people and get 4k scans. i looked it up and noticed you had a ekta 100vs sample you were going to do. i'd sure like to see that.

if you can get hold of 122m/(400ft for the neandroids) of the 100x film you preffer pro8 mm will make you 24 carts.
