There is a "proxy" option for ebay members to use which will rise your bid automatically and instantly anytime you are to be overbid up to a max limit you have preset. This will work up to the last 1/1000000.....th of a second if your total is not overbid.

Besides that some use a PC "sniper" software or so which automatically put in YOUR bid in the last 1/100000th of a second or so.

If you have a MAC platform you can usually beat them both :D

The other guy already has his top bid in place and eBay automatically increases it when someone else places another bid. You'll need to decide how much you want to spend and then see what happens. Usually it is a good idea to wait as long as possible before making your top bid because a bunch of little bids only drives the price up. I'm tired but that is the main idea.

Option to use it. Not all - at least the rookies do not seem to be aware of it and from my own experence not to many seem to use it anyway.

in what way? it has no effect if you always enter the least possible bid, but it's always on and there's no way to deactivate it.

That's the most abstract reply to a forum post I've ever encountered! I can't begin to imagine what it could possibly mean! 8O
