I've voted for bell tower.
Really, if Kodak's gonna axe K40 they'll kill S8 itself as I think they won't be able to finance it with negative sales.
That American sueing idea sounds neat also. They couldn't prove any damage done in the 40s due to lacking information. Let's see what the courts'll say when comparing prices for reversal and negative stocks including processing!

I voted for bell tower also. Quitting S8 is not an option at this point, and neither is paying $15 for processing.
I have to agree with tlatos - if K40 is their best selling stock and they cut it due to "marketplace dynamics," what does this imply about the rest of their lineup? The propaganda release ends with the ominous line that Kodak will support S8 "as long as the market allows it to do so." Maybe our days are numbered.
It really is ridiculous that there's no longer an economical alternative for processing... now I'm researching home developing.

Just some clarification: Fuji discontinued sound-striped film in 1999, after Kodak. BUT sound-striping is STILL available at the time of processing today for a few extra dollars. I stripe about 70% of my Single-8 film.S8 Booster wrote:coulda been great but the possibly bad news is that Fuji quit the soundstriping simoultanesly with Kodak in 1997. belive Fuji watch Kodak so "if they quit - we quit."
not too encouraging in my viewfinder.
