Nizo lens dust

Post by stianw »

Ok i got some dust inside my nizo 561 macro, the dust is on the top lense that retracts in when you zoom. can anybody tell me how to remove the front of the nizo lens? or maybe it is to dangerous?. it is 2 tiny little spots.

Forget about the two little spots of dust, they will have no effect on image quality. Just shoot some film and worry about something else.

There should be 3 or 4 small grub screws around the focus ring. Remove these and the front lens element should slide off. Make sure you don't lose the screws.

This is the same as your camera, right? The screws should be located in the ridged area for the focus ring.

Here's a picture of a 560 from an eBay auction.

One grub screw is clearly visible. I assume the 561 macro is similar.

If you can't get inside the lens to remove it, don't worry about it. It won't show up on film even at the closest macro setting, since the camera will not be able to focus behind the surface of the front element.
