OT: Or Slightly, My feature Trailer

Post by Mr_Floppy »

I wouldn't want to be considered a out-topic spammer, but I've just post a preeliminary trailer of my first feature (digibeta) and, since most of you are filmmakers, would like to hear your comments and opinions.

The trailer is a 'work in progress' (no color correction, several generation loss, midi music as orchestra placeholderl, etc). It's in Spanish language, so, I supposse most of you would have to guess!. (At least it's nos Icelandic!;-)).

We have also several 'dream sequences' we shot with K40 and the pressure plate at 70 fps that I'm waiting to arrive from Rank transfer.

here's the link:

Hola!

The trailer looked really good. Where exactly are you from and where did you make the movie? How is it and how long did it take to make? What is it about?

Yo hablo espanol un poco, pero no comprendo sufficientemente la dialogo rapidamente. Buena suerte con su pelicula!

Thanks,

That's when all the time, tears and my Med School near wasted really makes sense ;-)

The feature is 'La Habitación Cerrada' (The Shuttered Room, not very much in common with Derleth work). Was shoot this October in Madrid, in 15 days (8 to 16 hours a day), in digital betacam (790WSP)(this trailer is a un-timed dv dupe, several generation loss) with a young cast and crew and half-paid by me and a colombian narco...

Just kiddin ...he's colombian, but not sure about the narco.

I cannot tell you very much about the story at this point, but let guess it's something like a mix between The Changelling and Jacob's Ladder.

We will be getting a website soon (english too), featuring more info and a lot of the weird things that happenned while shooting, particurarly when my Production Manager convinced me to shot it in digibeta instead in K40 directly (I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!).

I've also shoot several comparision shots between digibeta and k40 (with a bunch of ND in the digibeta, of course). As soon as I got them back, will post here.

Cheers!

Cool, let us now how things go!

There are always some great stories in the making of movies, you'll have to tell a few.

Hey Mr Floppy - If I could swap my Super8 kit for a Digibeta camera, I would not need more than a second to decide. Digibeta is cool - your production designer is very sensible, not an old romantic/ eccentric like most of us here. I would still shoot Super8 here and there of course, but I think Digibeta can look really great and it's so versatile...
