It depends. When I go somwhere walking, it seems just fine. When I use public transport (especially during the rush hour), I have no doubt that I'm surrounded by living dead, and try to behave and move like them in order not to be torn apart. I think that films like bodysnatchers derive from someone observing people in the subway.wrote:and i was almost convinced that since zombies don't really exist they don't have to look real
Now this is interesting! Seriously, I like the connection between zombies and nazis. Looking at night of the living dead and the real nazi germany, it seems to me an excellent transportation of a real world situation into an imaginary. The essence - the fear of suddenly being ripped out of everyday's life and surrounded by hostile mass that before were neighbours, friends, and other ordinary folks is perfectly realized in the zombie genre.there are no zombie Nazi's in reality
Giving it a second thought, I tend to disagree. I've seen them, and without clear evidence it is impossible to make such a statement. They move weird, have a strange stare, communicate mainly with basic grunts and noises, and are extremely violent, randomly attacking and killing normal people that happen to cross their way.there are no zombie Nazi's in reality
nonsense. it's almost never too late to act on feedback. he's obviously already decided on mixing formats, but learning what people think about that can be very useful in later stages of editing. "oh, people think the 35mm footage stands out too much, maybe we should degrade it somehow?" even "fuck them, i know better" is a good decision to be forced to make.scott wrote:I love it when a project is obviously so close to completion and folks here say things like "maybe you should rethink mixing formats......" It seems that the thinking on that subject has already been done.
oh come on...Make YOUR movie, with YOUR vision. That is, after all, what it is all about.

Where are we going? What do you mean by this? Are you telling me that you don't see a vision of your project in you mind's eye and then try to bring that idea to completion? I don't think I'm alone on this.........oh come on

I think so too. I liked the other footage and found the 35mm too "clean" looking.I doubt that is because of the format. I agree with Mattias'suggestion, that the 35mm might need another treatment. It has become quite clear to me why on 35mm often diffusion filters are used and why on 16mm there may be less use for it since you will not get the same sharpness as in 35mm.It's grittier & grainier & matches our concept better.
Me too. In fact, there's one in the White House!jean wrote:

Damn Mattias. Keep this up and you are bound to fall off the "Take a vacation from the forum" poll!mattias wrote:of course not. i apologize too. it was actually kind of funny and it was just the similarity in style from your first reply that caused me not to see it.sonnyboo wrote:Let there not be bad feelings.
