500T, 200T and 4008zm2 internal filter

Post by jeremybm »

Hello-

I'll be shooting some 500T and 200T entirely outdoors with a Beaulieu 4008zm2. I just want to confirm that the internal 85 (or 85A?) filter is the appropriate filter for these stocks. I have seen both 85 and 85A mentioned, so I just want to make sure. I have had the internal filters inspected recently.

Thank you!

theoretically you should use a 85B while the built in filter is a 85, but in practice it doesnt matter since the printing/telecine color timing affects color temperature a lot more than the filter... you could even leave it out and get nearly identical results.

quick and dirty copy from http://www.bhphotovideo.com/product/872 ... 4/REG/4034
An 85 decreases the color temperature from 5500-3400 degrees Kelvin

An 85A decreases the color temperature from 5500-3100 degrees Kelvin

An 85B decreases the color temperature from 5500-3200 degrees Kelvin

An 85C decreases the color temperature from 5500-3800 degrees Kelvin
