After downloading it on windows media player the transitions are much better than Quicktime......but it is much DARKER......(?)....but I am on dial up anyhow, tomorrow I'll try another computer with high speed connection and see if I can burn to DVD...
My only complaint now is - it was too SHORT!!!!!!!.......
I went looking for the 2004 TimeLapse project information page and I couldn't find it.
It used to be at this link but it isn't there anymore. That URL starts http://www.8mm..., and I believe that the 8mm is no longer valid. But even if you remove the 8mm, the page is not found.

One thing though - will the fact that it is available for FREE to ANYONE for download undercut somehow the 'specialness' (for lack of a better term) of having it in film festivals?
If anyone can see it on a computer, why would a film festival accept it into their program? :?:
Tod, I see your concerns, but making a film availeble doesn't mean it's not interesting anymore and most people will never have heard about it or seen it anyway.
One of the reasons this is free is to gain a higher interest for the upcoming projects.

it's against the rules of most festivals, not just a small concern.
Then I vote for the members only option, and if someone is interested it isn´t that difficult to become a member (this could perhaps be pointed out on the download page, wich of course would require a login). I guess this could be seen as dancing on the edge by some people.... :?
It would be sad if the project was banned from festivals.

But I hoped the distortion in the first music was gone in the uncompressed file, but it isn´t. Jukka, you have to watch your levels....
I'm sorry about that, but I cannot do anything about it now because I did that sound 3 years ago (year before the whole time lapse project) using vocoder-type of thing mixing 3 different sound sources in one sound and that distortion was there at the beginning. When I collected soundtrack material for Andreas I found this one from my computer and decided to send it too with other stuff even with that distortion, because it sounded so good and original. I was a little surprised when I first time watched this movie, editor has put that sound at the beginning of the movie, anyway I fit to images very well, I think. So that distortion is part of that sound, ok?

Although, there are 1 or 2 transitions I don't like (maybe they will look better on DVD). I love the lightbulb in the beginning (kudos to whoever shot that, it is quite sublime as well as the hazy footage that follows it, and the music is perfect at that point). I like the rest of the soundtrack as well (except for the singing, and to whomever said it was a woman, it sounds like a high pitched male vocal to me!).
I shot that lightbulb-footage.
And yes, that singer is girl (BTW. girl who are in Finnish army nowadays! ), her name is Lotta Rytkonen and she has been my musical project lead singer since 2000. Here are more of our songs including that whole song (One raga for inspector):
BTW. I'd search a version of that song without vocals from my harddisk, so if there will be more discussion against these vocal parts, so I'd send that version to Andreas and he'd replace it.
One editor from our local newsweek made about me an interview concerning Pulse of Life-movie. I'll scan it and put the link for the article when they'll publish it.

I see. Yes, vocoders distort very easily. I still think that´s a pity, but I wouldn´t want to change the music there either. It fits great.
Yes, the link to the 2004 project page is on the Projects page.
I don't think there is a direct link to that page. I found it in a roundabout fashion, and it didn't have the 2004 page on it at first. See a few posts up where Andreas resurrected it and added it to that page.
The link in the old 2004 TimeLapse discussion thread in the Projects section of the forum needs to be updated.
