damn, i need a new board too. cheap as i am i'm still on the last one i got for free seven years ago when i stopped competing. maybe being a film director would be considered just as cool and marketable as a mediocre pipe rat by some manufacturer or distributor. i'll check. :-)
i went up north for the easter holidays. spent the entire time hiking this bigjump in the sun. it was fantastic and now my back hurts so i can hardly sit nor stand up.
sorry to drift off topic so much but you started it, you... you.
..... So how is the "Pulse of Life" of life project going to evolve over the years? I suppose this is a central question for the directors. (but all collaborators should chime in) How will you avoid making the same film every year? Should we brianstorm the question here?
that film is great! one question and its a stupid one....to all of you who know this please help me understand something i don't. How do you get the fast motion? Is is a slower fps? and how many fps? just wondering i'm kinda new to this stuff and would really like to know. Its greatly appreciated.
Any film speed UNDER 18 frames per second will render a fast, gimmicky, car commercial look when played back at 18 fps or faster...that's part of the beauty with super 8, you can make a 50 foot roll of film last for 3,600 DAYS if you wanted it too. You better use Duracells though, if you try it.
Cheers,
mike

And I like it more everytime I watch it I did it last May 22nd, I'd love to do another if there's a 2005.. and put some more time into it. I could help with transfers if we do it more into summer, some editing too.
Oh my gosh! I havent visited this site for a little while and when I returned, I see that 'Pulse of Life' is officially finished! I still havent seen the film cos I have dial-up (painfully slow.) I'll try and view it at my father's work who has broadband. Oh thanks for the compliment, Sonickel! I'm glad that particular shot made it into the final edit.

For those that are interested, my kit consisted of a Canon 1014 Autozoom Electronic camera, Canon Interval Timer E, one K40 cartridge and a Velbon tripod.

Yep, just had some trouble uploading it from my ADSL connection. It takes 12 hours or so, and the connection has got a hickup. I've tried 3 times already. If I can't make it this time, I'll bring it to a friend's place and upload it.
I've updated the WMW, MOV and MPG files with the final version.

i have a barely-used ride timless i'll sell you pretty cheap. (i live in texas now, go figure.) it's maybe too big unless you're as big as me. plenty fast, tho -- too much so for my skills or lack of.

I think it's a '00 or '01, can't remember. Looked some for a picture online to figure it out, but nothing yet. I can send pics. I bought it hoping my skill level would grow into it, but I never got to go consistently enough to feel completely at ease. I always felt like at the beginning of a trip I spent half a day catching up to it...
It's 167, and I believe it's wide as I have a 10.5 shoe. (Nice Burton boots and bindings to go with if that fits you; but you probably already have what you want/need in that dept.)
My wife is sitting here telling me not to sell it. She thinks if I sell it we're less likely to move back to Portland, OR. ;)
