Wow, that's amazing. And to think, shooting at 18fps, I've somehow been wasting 36.666 minutes of every K40 tape!

I'm still trying to work out the connection with space.

Why do people refer to it as "tape" ?? I just don't understand how somebody could be that ignorant.

People are selling Ã¢â‚¬Å“super 8 video camerasÃ¢â‚¬Â all the time. :lol:

Many people have asked me whether you need to develop the film or not. When I have responded that of course you need to develop the film since it just like a still photography film, some people still donÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t understand thinking since it is the same film that you had in the camera that is running thru the projector (K40 or any reversal) it should simply not need to be processed!! Sigh!

Finally when I explain the principles of exposing a film they realise that taking the film directly out of the camera would make the film totally exposed and there by unviewable. :roll:

Most people live totally in the digital age where you can just plug and play!

I do understand that quite a lot of people under 30 won't be familiar with 8mm equipment but to have no clue when you explain that it is photographic film is just sad. Seems people just don't use their brains any more, anybody under the age of 5 can remember when photographic film was king compared to digital.

Yeah I see quite a few people selling super 8 cameras as "video camera".... often send a friendly email to them explaining their mistake, how tehy will make more if they remove it from the "video" section to "movie" on eBay and sometiems give an estimated value of their item. Usually it is taken in the spirit in wchih I intend, but sometimes the seller gets annoyed.

I had one seller convinced that he should not change the description. I pointed out, there was no way the super 8 cam he was selling could be connected to a television or any video equipment so selling it as "video" was incorrect...but he was having none of it. End resut? No bids.

Last week there was a guy selling a "cine camera thingy"...which was actually a std 8mm projector.
