...Well, I sent my K40 to the old NJ address and here it is: took two weeks.
It's not packaged in the white box like it used to be. It's in a black plastic reel. Looks like Swiss plastic and smells like chocolate. It must have gone Trans-Atlantic.
I did talk to a Kodak person today. They told me the ten dollar days of K40 with the mailer are over. Now the list price is 15.00 w/out processing, which just bums me right out. Tri-X is the next wave for me. Student price is $8.47 per cart and I found out about a place in Minnisota that processes Tri-x for $7.50 http://filmvideoservices.net/ (Thanks Nigel!!)
....hope this helps,
Steve

Only if you order less than 5... When I ordered K40 on Monday I wanted 5 carts. Each would have been $10.80 (+ tax), then my student discount took 20 percent off that. Total shipped price was $49 and change. Processing is $4.88 through Wal-Mart. Ironically the cost for a developed cart of K40 is cheaper than Tri- or Plus-X.

Mailed on March 23rd, returned to me on April 11th. 19 days. That's about normal for me. I've never gotten film back faster than that, I don't believe, but it has often taken even longer.monobath wrote:I'm sending out a roll tomorrow to the Beltsville Maryland address. Be interesting to see how long it takes for us both to get our film back. I'll post when mine comes back.
I do that all the time with out-dated film I've found in cameras or sometimes bought on eBay. It is the label on the cart and not the mailing envelope which identifies the film as "process paid".xeno_basso wrote:hey guys...what happens if you lose (or rather your kids attack it with their "craft" scissors) the process paid yellow envelope? Can I still send it to the Swiss address and expect it back?
The film cart clearly says "film price includes processing".
Thanks
john.
So just send to the address of your choice (I am still using Wimbledon in the UK) with a short covering letter saying you've lost the mailer and giving the return address and the lovely people in Swizerland will give you just the same service as usual.
Indeed I just had a roll of film expired sometime in the 80's with no yellow envelope return to me 15 days after I posted it...arrived on Tuesday this week.
