Video tap on beaulieu 6008/7008

Post by Oldhouse »

I need to attach a video tap to my beaulieu 7008 pro to use it with a steadicam and to judge the framing when shooting handheld or from a tripod. Does anybody know where I could get a video tap for my beaulieu or did anybody build one himself?

Regards,

Michael

Do a search for "video tap." There are several posts about this.

Nice assumption, but incorrect.

There have been several posts about video assist, but you won't find them searching for "video tap". That reveals only one thread:

Not much useful info there.

"Video assist" as an AND search yields 58 matches, so that may be more useful. Haven't culled through it to find out, but looks more promising.

Mr Paul Cotto had experimented with a DIY set up once, and it was only US$ 200.

One interesting video tap for the canon 1014 XL-S:

Good luck

Your best bet maybe to set up a somthing like this which we did on our Beaulieu R16

If you are attaching a video tap to the cameras finder to judge framing, would it not be off due to the lens on the tap not matching the lens on the camera.
Isnt the beaulieu marked for tv safe area or you could just do frame line tests by shooting a board or piece of paper that has frame lines (as well as focus spots)

it would seem like one could adapt a beaulieu for video tap on the side of the camera since it is mirror shutter. On the 4008 models there seems to be spots on the inside case where the designers where going to put something there (look above the ground glass switch) but didnt.
