16mm camera with intervalometer

Post by Andreas Wideroe »

Hiya!

Is there a 16mm camera out there with a built in intervalometer? Preferably one that's not too expensive.

I'm looking for something that I can experiment and have fun with which is easy to use at the same time.

I know I can get add-on intervalometers for plenty of cameras, but I just want a simple one.

Any ideas?

Andreas

This is a great topic.

I am guessing the bigger format cameras work off of momentum.

Getting a 16mm camera to stop, start, stop, start accurately one frame at a time, then throw in time-exposure, and it's probably a very rare 16mm or 35mm camera that can do that all internally without an additional external set-up.

But does even one such camera exist?

I don't know of a 16mm with a built-in intervalometer. However, there are a varity of external units that are great and still pretty small. A friend has a really nice one for his Arri S. I think Tobin makes a couple.

Good Luck

Beaulieu 2016 quartz has a built in intervalometer. It have the same steps as 6008/7008.
You can also connect, in the remote jack, other types for a wider select of time steps.

I'm looking for an intervalometer for the Canon Scoopic. If anyone can turn me onto finding one somewhere other than ebay, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

Ummm...if you're still looking for one, we've got one.

It's a combo Scoopic/Bolex unit. You can swap the pushrod and use it on a Bolex as a standard TIV-300B.

My bolex H-16 EL will shoot single frames triggered from an external switch. Then you build the velleman interval timer and wire it to the 3 pin plug on the EL.
