Post by Sonic Truth »

Does anyone here offer a workprinter transfer service in england?
I know that Jukka in finland does a cheap one, but its easier for me to send to someone here in the UK.

cheers

Hi,

Thu bulk of my belongings will arrive in a couple weeks here in Thornbury, South Glouscestershire, England, included is the WorkPrinter. Yes, I intend to transfer film to ... let's see, SVCD. I have not been here for a week yet. Still, I've shot one roll of R8 Fomapan with a H8rex. What a beast! 8)

i wonder if roger minds people making money from using his workprinters!!

Jukka, how quickly can you transfer one roll, and send it back to england at the moment considering you're overbooked.??

Are you kidding? I love it! I would say 80% of my WorkPrinter clients use them for making money. That's why I've had to really make improvements since they were being used for more than "just a couple of rolls". I've go one client up north that has run about 200 thousand feet through their WorkPrinter-Pro units. They've been instrumental in helping me duration test my product. I just sent them the new WorkPrinter-XP and they are doing great! A little faster at 7.5fps (though I still list it at 6fps) and much quieter due to a different motor and different cam design. Anyway, I think it's just great when people use these in commercial services. I had one guy from Alabama that called me out of the blue (I had never spoken with him before nor emailed) and he wanted one right away, was even willing to pay rush charges. Seems he had a nice little thing going in his town using an older Goko unit and then someone with a WorkPrinter set up shop down the street and he started losing business. He secretly had a friend submit a roll for transfer so he could see what the diff was between his Goko and the WorkPrinter and then I get this urgent call from him. Really funny. I mean, he didn't even own a computer! Anyway, he and his competition are doing the Hatfield/McCoy thing in 8mm over in Alabama. Funny stuff.
