Australian Vision2 500T Group Buy

Hi Guys,

I have organised a group buy of Vision2 500T Cartridges through Kodak Australia.

The reason that it's 500T only, is because they will only let us order in multiples of 20, and the majority of you guys expressed interest in the 500T over the 200T. So if we wanted 500T and 200T, we'd need to order 20 of each (40 in total) - I don't think we'd manage that many quite yet.

Maybe after we've tried out the 500T, we can do a 200T order in the near future???? I'd like to try that out.

If you would like some 500T to try out, please phone Agatha from Kodak in Melbourne on 1300 139 795 to place your order (mention my name so she knows what you're talking about!). She will charge you individually, and post the cartridges to you once they arrive.

They cost $27.50 each, including postage to your house.

Remember we can only order in multiples of 20, so if you miss out on getting your order in for the first 20, you'll have to wait until another 20 cartridges are ordered.

Get in FAST, because I'm taking the first 10!!!

Otherwise i'm sticking to 16mm for neg.

There is but, you'll find it more expensive shooting super 8 than 16mm if you have to send it OS for processing...

Maybe u should ring ATLAB or Cinevex... and see if they can offer it in the future..

I've got to call Atlab on the Gold Coast about some 16mm prcessing in the next few days - so I'll ask them if maybe they would be interested in doing a bulk development of this 500T if we all ut it in together -- though if it's a matter of not having the equipment to handle Super 8 then it won't be possible - I'll find out

I also rang Film Plus, they can't process super 8mm neg, infact they are stopping all colour film processing for super 8mm and will only be handling black and white.
Looks like there maybe no 100D coming down under

If no one else has, that means there are only 6 to go. If no one else wants any, I'll just order the last 6 so Kodak can ship the order.

Maybe we can all send our "test rolls" to the U.S. together in the one package to get processed??? Should save a bit of money and hassle.

but the best of luck to the rest, i hope you will post some stills for people to drool over, i have seen only one so far of the interior of a supermarket.

I twill probably be more than $40 for Telecine, i'm get a best light at video 8 in Sydney and it is costing $195 for three 100ft rolls of 16mm...

Shame about the lack of local processing options... I was hoping that we'd find somebody, but Film Plus was looking like the last option. Still, I'll stick with my order of two rolls... it will be fun to try the stuff out, and handy to know what it is capable of, in case I ever anticipate a situation where the extra expense will be worth it.

I'd say it will be a few weeks before I test it. I've only just received my first Super 8 camera, and will probably do my first tests with K40 and/or B & W before doing anything with the 500T. However, if/when I do shoot something and get it processed, I will try to share it here on the forum.

This Vision2 film/processing/telecine package seems like reasonable value for money:

Anyone here tried Bono before? Again, postage costs would make it less attractive, although I would think that for light items like Super 8 cartridges/reels, this might not be too big a deal.

I guess K40 is hard to beat in terms of "bang for buck."
