YesVideo Transfer Equipment?

Post by murchmb »

Does anyone know what type of film transfer equipment YesVideo (http://www.YesVideo.com) uses? Between browsing their website and a call to customer service, I know nothing more than I did before.

They are using our basic CineMate-20 units with a single chip Canon camera. I went out a couple of years ago and trained their people on how to set up and service a whole bank of the CineMate units but, beyond that, I've been sort of out of the loop. If they are aligning and running them correctly, the results should be good enough for basic home movies, which is what they focus on. I know they are running the cameras on all auto, just to keep up with the volume. They're the nicest people in the world and seem serious about QC, but I would think you'd want a higher end transfer than that, if you are doing any sort of serious story. You could give them a try and see what they come up with, though.

Thanks, Roger. Given their deal with all of these national chains and such, they seem have the most exposure to Joe Sixpack. Just wondering kind of transfers were being so well publicized.
