Switching a projector from 50 HZ into 60 HZ
I received a nice mint beautiful top notch Eumig S 940 Super8 projector from Austria. I opened the back and switched the contact from 50 HZ to 60 HZ. I'll use a transformer to run it at 110 V. All for use in the US. There is one more thing to do in order for the projector to work with 60 HZ current: Change the Drive Wheel. Does anyone have any idea how to switch the drive wheel? I heard that this does not involve changing any hardware. Just to adjust something inside the projector - question: what is that that needs adjustment?
On the Eumig 607 I have there is a drive belt that needs to be changed. There are two pairs of pulleys. I think the 940 was a later sound model so probably uses the same principal. It is the rubber belt drive from the main electric motor.
If the pulleys of diffrent diameter are on the motor then it will be the smaller one for 60 Hz, if one of the driven pair then it will be the smaller, as the drive motor is synchronous and naturally runs faster at 60 Hz than 50 Hz.

New web site and this is cine page http://www.picsntech.co.uk/cine.html
Thanks Wahiba. I inquired further about it and you are correct. It looks like an easy adjustment to do.wahiba wrote:On the Eumig 607 I have there is a drive belt that needs to be changed.
