BEAULIEU 5008 S MULTISPEED SUPER 8 MOVIECAMERA - is it good?

Post by Ricardo »

Hi,

i have a question about a BEAULIEU 5008 S MULTISPEED SUPER 8 MOVIECAMERA
I got get one for around $100
Is that a right prise our shouldn't i buy it ?
Is it a good camera, is it really much better than by example an elmo super 104 camera ?

I would like to start filming in super 8 but i still am searching for a camera to start with.
What should i do and what is the normal prise of a Beaulieu 5008 S.

Thanks

you could easily get one for 150EUR on ebay in europe. 100USD is certainly a good price though, depending on the lens and the condition.

Yeah,
I just bought one on ebay for $585 and it's in pristine condition and the battery was just recelled. Damn, you got one for $100 or did you say you can get one for that price? That's pretty good. Do you know if it has a battery? Do you know if it works?

The 5008 should yield the best images of the two cams you mentioned.
Thanks to the optical path and the good lenses that usually come with them. However, it is not a camera model with much features. Although this one, the 'multispeed' at least has one more speed setting than 18 and 24. It also has 45 fps. Can´t remember if it also has 9 fps.

All in all, a good cam to start out with. Best of luck.
