projector running to slow, what can i do ?

Post by Ricardo »

Hi,

today i bougt a Heurtier P6-24B
Image

It seemed to be working fine with the silent movies but when i put a super 8 movie with sound, the sound hears slowed down. As a taperecorder with low batteries.
I guess the problem needs to be that the projector is running to slow.
How could i fix it ?

Thanks in advance,
Ricardo

I've never done it, but I'm sure you could add a potentiometer which would enable you to dial up or down the speed of the projector motor as needed. Try searching for "potentiometer" in this forum to see what's here.

Is there a switch on the machine something to the effect of "18/24"? I've never seen a sound machine that doesn't run at both speeds and right now I think you are at 18 FPS. If so try 24 and see what you think.

On the back of the projector, up front near the lens, is a knob that selects 18 or 24fps. Try setting that at 24.

In addition on the front of the projector there is a speed knob, marked below, that selects still, slow, and normal (either 18 or 24fps as the other switch is set)

these are great little machines, that picture is of the one in my basement :D

P.S. if you need a manual let me know, I can scan one and upload it

Hi,

thanks for all the help. I guess it will have been on the wrong speed.
I can't test it as the belt broke yesterday. It seems the old owner just glued it together with super glue.
Hope i'll find a replacement. As i don't believe super glue is a very good option.
Where could i find a similar belt ?

Is it possible that it is set for 220v which is European vs. 110v which is American? Some projectors have an adjustment knob for this. Also, sometimes when machines ( especially old projectors) which have electric motors have been run for so many hours, the brushes in the electric motor start to wear down and they have to be replaced.

Hi Ricardo, I just uploaded the manual to this site's FTP upload area as Heurtier_P6-24B_english.zip and also here: http://www.mondofoto.com/manuals/heurtier-p6-24b/ hope that helps.

As marc suggests, there is a voltage dial on the backside, be sure that is set properly (the booklet says US models don't have that dial but mine has one)

P.S. Balint, sorry haven't got a manual for that Eumig
