Sites showing clips of Super 8

Post by supermag400_inventor »

I would like to find sites that have video clips of various super 8 projects. Do any of you have any suggestions?

I've tried time and time again to load clips from this site and have not been very succesfull in doing so. They just don't open. I would like to see some clips of Super 8 footage to compare quality of stocks.

Any help appreciated!

Take a look at the gallery (Knowledge --> Pictures) on this site for still frame examples of various stocks.

I have that problem also, its something with your web browser, right click the link and select "save target as" and save it where you want. Thats it really.

both are taking advantage of the "crappy" qualities of super 8 though, so if it's something to prove that super 8 is better than video or whatever you may get disappointed. :-)

Is it something to do with disallowing popups? This site always launches links into a new window. I use Firefox, and unless you tell it to allow popups for a particular site it will disallow them.

When it does so, it puts a message under the menubar that says something like, "Firefox has blocked a popup for this site. Click here for options..." There you can tell it that popups are OK for that particular domain.

Just a possibility...

sunrise, your clips flicker badly (and i mean *badly*) in my browser due to the background animation. you may want to remove that for the video clips, or at least provide a download link as an alternative.

Thanks mattias,

the site is only tested in windows IE6, Mozilla and Netscape. I will remove the background animation on the video pages when I get my other computer up and running again after this week's major crash.

Do you have other problems with this flicker on other sites? It is a background gif and the video is a layer.

Yes, it was shot on Digibeta. The windows was made using green screen keying.

I have to admit that you fooled me with your beginning. Also the style fooled me, of course. Looking again I can see it... (not that it´s any worse now!)

The start and end leader is 16mm. The compression also hides the video look very well. When you have seen several films using this effect you begin to notice it quite a lot. A lot of people are fooled by looking at it initially.
