Film came back black! help...

Just got a batch of film back from various cameras... some of the rolls have come back black, no pics. Any suggestions why?

Hi first of all, was the filmstock sealed and fresh stock??
when it was sent for processing, was the exposed lettering evident at the end of the reel.... do the cameras claw mech and centre drive work.....is the cameras iris working correctly.... if not a slr type viewfinder was the lens cap left on...is variable shutter jammed closed.....
