There is some special device from Beaulieu to fix onto the syncho-axis. It is rare and sells at high prices.

Possibly you are better off with a Nizo 480/481 or such. These have extensive intervalometer features and B or automatic B. Their remote control works with external intervalometers too...

Thanks aj, a 7th camera is not on my agenda for the moment, i'd rather become mister intervalometer for a try. Life is hell.

This Time Lapse FAQ on the Kinsman Physics Productions site shows a Tobin motor on a Bolex H16, but it also shows several different homemade electromechanical intervalometers built for the Bolex. These things actually push the single-shot trigger on the Bolex, which requires quite a bit of force compared to what it takes to trip a cable-actuated single-shot release on an S8 camera.

It would be fairly easy to build one of these. In fact, one of the examples shown uses a variable speed motor and a plexiglass cam to trip a standard mechanical cable release. I've been thinking of building one for my Elmo 1012xls, which doesn't have a built-in intervalomter. The cost would be miniscule compared to the cost of a Tobin.

Thanks Monobath, the timelapse FAQ is a very good link that should be added in the FAQ links of this forum. Concerning the "fairly easy way of building" any electronic gear, this is another world for me, and it's why I have to push the button myself every 4-6 seconds for 15 minutes which is still OK compared to something worst.

I have a time lapse unit which simply closes the circuit contacts via the mini-jack (2.5mm) in the camera to close the shutter. The unit is attached via a cable and has a range of about 2fps to about 30 minutes per frame. Its powered by a 9v battery.

This was bought from the Widescreen Centre in London a few years ago and its durable and reliable. Having had a quick look through their website they dont seem to stock it anymore, but it might be worth giving them a ring to see.
